A BELFAST-based travel operator has defeated some of the biggest names in global travel to win a prestigious industry award.
Mahlatini Luxury Travel was named overall winner of Best Safari, Wildlife & Nature Holiday Company in the prestigious 2017 British Travel Awards held in London.
Based in Belfast, Mahlatini operates as a global provider of specialist luxury holidays to Africa and the Indian Ocean with a network of agency and destination partners all over the world.
Chris Goldring from Mahlatini said the award prove companies from Northern Ireland can operate and compete on a global scale.
“For an independent company like Mahlatini to beat such travel bastions as Virgin Holidays, Hayes and Jarvis, Titan and Saga is fantastic."
The Giants Causeway also picked up an award on the evening and was named Best UK Heritage Attraction.
