Man (61) dies following weekend crash in Co Antrim

On Sunday, St Michael's Church in Newtownhamilton held a holy rosary for the injured teenagers.

St Joseph's High School in Crossmaglen, where the 16-year-old is a Year 13 pupil, asked the local community to show their support for the family.

A member of St Michael's GAA club, he had just been awarded the prize of Minor Player of the Year last week.

Barra O'Muiri, a former Sinn Féin councilor and member of the club, posted online over the weekend: “Please say a prayer, light a candle and offer your intentions for his well-being tonight. Only a week ago he was receiving our award as Minor Player of the Year, and tonight he is fighting for his life.”

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, and have asked anyone with relevant information to call 101, quoting reference 2021.
