A woman and young child are in a critical condition in hospital after a two-vehicle collision in Newry.

The accident happened on Gosford Road at around 3pm yesterday and six people, including two young children, were injured and remain in hospital.

A blue Volkswagen Golf and a black Volkswagen Passat were in collision and a 39-year-old woman, who police believe was the driver of the Passat, and one of the young children who was a passenger in the Golf are in a critcal but stable condition in hospital.

The others who were injured include a woman and man in their thirties, an 18-year-old woman and a young child.

It comes after a man died following a crash in Co Tyrone last night.

Police said the collision happened at around 11.45pm on Armagh Road, close to Moy. Read more
