AIRLINE Jet2 said it is creating 50 new jobs at Belfast International Airport as it launches what it is calling its "biggest ever summer programme".

The carrier is adding a route to Girona on Spain's Costa Brava next year.

However, it will also cease services to Pisa and Murcia.

The company said the changes came as, "we are always reviewing where our customers want to fly to".

Jet2 will serve 14 destinations from Aldergrove during its summer 2017 schedule.

"Our new twice-weekly flights to the Costa Brava will give Northern Irish holidaymakers direct access to iconic blue flag beach resorts Malgrat de Mar and Lloret de Mar, while we have also extended our flying programme to key destinations including Gran Canaria, Reus, Faro, Ibiza and Palma so customers can really maximise the summer at the start and the end of the season," it said.
