NEWINGTON face a massive test under the Friday night lights in the PlayR-Fit Championship, the north Belfast side taking on table topping Portadown at Shamrock Park.

The Swans have had lift-off recently, rediscovering some of their early season form, and victory would lift them to within a point of Niall Currie's side who have been boosted by the goalscoring form of Ryan Mayse.

The Ports - relegated from the top flight last season - lead the way on goal difference from Dundela, who have two games in hand.

Third-placed Institute are also in Friday night action, hosting Ballinamallard at the Brandywell.

The Duns face Ards at Bangor's Clandeboye Park on Saturday.
