A BODY has been recovered from Derry's River Foyle during searches for missing 18-year-old Dean Millar.

Police said a body had been found on the river's banks on Tuesday night but did not say if it was that of Mr Millar.

A post mortem examination is due to be carried out within the next few days.

Mr Millar is believed to have gone into the river more than five weeks ago.

He was last seen in the Brandywell area late on Saturday March 11 and is believed to have entered the river close to Craigavon Bridge in the early hours of Sunday March 12.

Daily morning and evening searches have been carried out since the teenager went missing.

The find comes after the body of 23-year-old Jack Glenn was recovered from the river last month following weeks of searches.
