A road has been closed following a serious crash in the Rasharkin area of Co Antrim.

The collision happened shortly before 1.30pm on Wednesday at Craigs Road.

The road remained closed on Wednesday evening, and a PSNI spokesperson said: “Diversion points are in place at the junctions with the Drumack Road and Lisnahunshin Road. Please seek an alternative route for your journey at this time.”

Ballymoney Sinn Féin councillor Leanne Peacock said: “This is very concerning, and our thoughts are with all those involved as we await further news.”

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said two rapid response paramedics, one emergency crew and two BASICS doctors arrived at the scene of the collision.

“Following assessment and initial treatment, no patients were taken from the scene,” they said.
