ST Eunan’s have been sensationally dumped out of the Donegal SFC after being ‘Termonated” by the youthful boys from the Burn Road in an epic encounter at the Donegal GAA Centre on Saturday.

It emerged post-match that Termon allegedly had 16 men on the pitch at one stage, but however that controversy plays out this is a massive shock.

It was a roller-coaster affair as the winners led by 1-9 to 0-5 at the break, but Eunan’s overhauled them in a wind-assisted second half.

The Letterkenny men led by two points coming towards the end of normal time, but points in injury-time from Oisin Harkin and Aaron Reid sent the game into extra-time on a score of St Eunan’s 0-15 Termon 1-12.

Termon started brightly in extra-time with points from John James Sweeney and veteran marksman Daire McDaid, but Eunan’s hit back through Shane O’Donnell and Shaun Patton.

Patrick Fegan put Termon ahead by 1-15 to 0-17 at half-time in extra time and sub Enda McCormick made it a two point game for Termon. Although Shane O’Donnell pointed for St Eunan’s, Termon hung on for a memorable victory.

In Saturday’s other game, Naomh Conaill booked their quarter-final place with a 3-15 to 2-10 win over Killybegs.
