IRISH News sister company Interpress has scooped the National Newspaper Printer of the Year at the Irish Print Awards.

Interpress picked up the accolade for the third year in succession at the annual awards in Dublin, which aim to recognise the country’s best companies in the print and press sector.

With more than 175 entries to assess, judges had a difficult decision selecting winners across 31 categories, but

Interpress emerged victorious in its category, and added to the long list of awards amassed over the last seven years at Ireland and UK level.

Interpress production manager, David Wilson said:

"We are delighted to win this award for the third year in a row. The quality of The Irish News gets better year on year. It is a privilege to print it on an ongoing basis."

Chairman of the judging panel, Freddie Snowe, added:

"Once again our printing industry has presented the IPA.2018 with an amazingly diverse array of high quality printed matter for consideration.

"The standard of excellence was such that in some cases only a slight imperfection prevented an entry from winning, commiserations to those who were pipped at the post."

The overall winner, Business Print, was awarded the coveted title of Printer of the Year as well as Digital Printer of the Year.

The 41st Irish Print Awards took place in the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport Hotel.
