THE dramatic battle at the top of the Playr-Fit Championship battle ramped up with victories for duelling duo Annagh and Limavady.
Ciaran McGurgan’s side were 2-0 winners over Armagh City at the BMG Arena, while Paul Owens’ Roesiders edged Ards 1-0 at the Showgrounds.
A James Convie double did the damage for Annagh. The only goal at Limavady came from the penalty spot seven minutes after the break, Sam McClintock converting.
Annagh top the table on goal difference in the race for an automatic spot in the Sports Direct Premiership and also have a match in hand.
Elsewhere Dundela were 3-2 winners over Warrenpoint Town at Wilgar Park and the Welders drew 1-1 with Queen’s University at Blanchflower Stadium.
Ballinamallard and Newington shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller at Ferney Park on Friday night.
