THE Camogie Association has released venues and starting times for the AIB All-Ireland Club semi-finals involving Ulster teams on Saturday week (December 2).

Both of last year’s senior finalists – Sarsfield’s from Galway and Loughgiel Shamrocks – are through in separate semi-finals again.

Loughgiel will take on first-time Leinster winners Dicksboro who came from a goal down early in the second half to dethrone St Vincent’s of Dublin on a 0-12 to 1-7 scoreline at the same time as Loughgiel were taking their sixth provincial title in the Box-It Athletic Grounds.

Sarsfield’s will not know their opponents, or indeed the venue, until after the Munster final is played this coming weekend.

The Munster semi-finals took place at the weekend with Sarsfield’s of Cork and Drum and Inch from Tipperary reaching the decider.

Should the Cork side win, there could be problems for commentators with their Galway namesakes waiting in the semi-finals.

Eglish will represent Ulster in the All-Ireland intermediate championship. With the Down champions upgraded to senior, there was no provincial championship and Eglish haven’t had a game since the start of October, when they beat Naomh Treasa from Dungannon in the Tyrone final replay.

Meanwhile, Na Fianna from Meath have won the Leinster championship and Louth Centre of Excellence at Darver is the venue for their clash with Eglish.

The winner from the Munster final between holders Clanmaurice of Kerry and Shannon Rovers from Tipperary will face Galway champions Shamrocks in the other semi-final.

Six clubs remain in the All-Ireland junior A series with last year’s beaten finalists Knockananna from Wicklow facing London side Tara in a quarter-final this Saturday in TUD Blanchardstown.

The winner then goes through to a semi-final in Abbottstown the following Saturday against first-time Ulster champions Granemore.

Limerick’s Monaleen and St Joseph’s, Doora Barefield from Clare contest the Munster final this weekend to provide an opponent for Athleague from Roscommon on December 2.

Finally, in the junior B semi-finals, there are no Munster teams, although Croydon, the British champions, are still waiting on the Leinster decider between Arklow Rocks and St Munna’s to find out who they play in the semi-finals.

Crossmaglen will be playing Roscommon Gaels in Kinnegad in their semi-final and, after a big win in the Ulster final, they will hope to follow Cavan champions Lacken to the national title.

Last year, Ulster teams appeared in finals in all four grades and won three of those.

The odd one out was Loughgiel, who lost to Sarsfield’s in Croke Park the weekend before Christmas.

All four finals will take place over the weekend of December 16-17, the two junior finals on the Saturday and then the senior and intermediate double-header in Croke Park again on Sunday afternoon.
