Bredagh hurler, Aaron Maguire from Belfast is being compared to sporting prankster Karl Power after walking onto Croke Park to celebrate with the Kilkenny team after winning the Leinster Championship.

The Cats had just beaten Galway when the players were approached by Maguire who was on his stag-do, in a full Kilkenny strip (helmet and all) to celebrate and take pictures with the players.

Maguire slipped past the stewards and made his way onto the pitch with the number 12 jersey on his back.

Pitch-invasions are a regular occurrence in the GAA with many players staying behind after matches to take pictures and sign autographs for children.

However, Croke Park is normally the exception to this rule, which is why this incident is so bizarre.

Maguire's action are drawing comparisons to the ultimate sporting prankster, Karl Power who, in the early 2000s, was notorious for sneaking into sporting events.

Some of his biggest pranks include pretending to be the media at Old Trafford before changing into a Manchester United kit and jumping into the team photo before a Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

Power also walked up to bat for England against Australia and played a short match on centre-court at Wimbledon amongst a host of other pranks.

The Kilkenny players were in great spirits and laughed along with Maguire. They were more than happy to pose for pictures and it would certainly be an experience that Maguire won't forget.
