Waterlogged course forces postponement of Ladbrokes Festival of Racing at Down Royal

THIS weekend's Ladbrokes Festival of Racing at Down Royal has been put back a week due to waterlogging at the course.

The showpiece of the horseracing calendar in the north was due to take place this Friday and Saturday (November 3 and 4) but will now take place on November 10 and 11.

Following the cancellation, Horse Racing Ireland has announced the following fixture amendments:-


The Down Royal meeting scheduled for Friday, November 3 will now be on Friday, November 10.

This meeting closes for fresh entries by 12 noon on Monday, November 6 with declarations to run to be made by 10am on Wednesday 8th November.


 The Down Royal meeting scheduled for Saturday, November 4 will now be on Saturday, November. 

This meeting closes for fresh entries by 12 noon on Tuesday, November 7 with the exception of The Ladbrokes Champion Steeplechase (Grade 1) which will revert to original entry stage with fresh forfeits/supplementary entries also to be made by 12 noon on Tuesday, November 7. Declarations to run for this meeting must be made by 10am on Thursday 9th November.
