Latton 0-11 Magheracloone 0-11 (aet)
Latton and Magheracloone have to meet for a third time to try and resolve the issue of who goes through to the quarter-finals after they finished all square again.
Magheracloone had the better of the exchanges for most of the game but Latton mounted a late surge to register three unanswered points, all by Owen Coyle, two from frees, to bring the sides level at 0-10 each, and force extra-time.
Both sides finished normal time with 14 players, Owen Duffy of Latton receiving a yellow and then a black card, and Magheracloone’s Paudie Finnegan two yellows.
A point by Stephen McCabe gave a wasteful Latton a one-point lead at the break in extra-time before Magheracloone goalkeeper David Kirk converted a 45 a minute into injury time to force a second replay.
Ballybay 2-12 Clontibret 1-15 (aet)
Reigning champions Clontibret and Ballybay must also meet for a third time after they fought out a dramatic draw in Scotstown on Saturday evening.
Ballybay led at half-time, albeit narrowly, (0-7 to 0-5) and approaching the end of normal time a goal by Thomas Kerr put them in the lead again but top scorer Conor McManus came to the rescue of the champions with a point from a free deep into stoppage time to force extra-time, with the score at Ballybay 1-8, Clontibret 0-11.
Ballybay took the lead within 30 seconds of the start of the first period of extra-time but Clontibret responded with a strong period that yielded 1-2 without reply to leave them ahead by four points at the halfway stage in extra-time, 1-13 to 1-9.
Within two minutes of the start of the second period of extra-time Ballybay had the margin down to two and when McManus pushed Clontibret three ahead after five minutes and then three minutes later edged them four points in front, a semi-final place looked assured but Ballybay finished with a flourish as super sub Colin Malone struck for a goal and a point, the point coming a minute into stoppage time, to send the issue to a replay.
