Coalisland record surprise win over Clonoe in Tyrone SFC

Coalisland 0-14 Clonoe 0-12

FORMER Tyrone player Paddy McNeice and Plunkett Kane inspired Coalisland to a surprise win over Clonoe at Edendork, scoring ten points between them.

Brian Toner and Cormac O’Hagan were also on target as they built up a 0-7 to 0-6 interval lead.

Declan McClure, Daryl Magee and Connor McAliskey were on target for Clonoe, but they came up against an inspired Fianna defence in which Louis O’Neill and Stephen McNally were outstanding.

Two late McNeice points sealed a quarter-final clash with Donaghmore.

Killyclogher 2-10 Errigal Ciaran 0-11

FOURTEEN-MAN Killyclogher came from six points behind to dump Errigal Ciaran out of the Donnelly Vaxhall Tyrone SFC at Carrickmore last night.

Darren Canavan slotted over four first half points, and Ciaran McGinley landed a couple of gems as Errigal moved into a 0-8 to 0-3 interval lead, on the back of a solid defensive performance.

Mark Bradley and Simon O’Neill fired in goals, and with Conal McCann imperious at midfield, they pushed on for a five points success, despite the 45th minute dismissal of Dermot Carlin. Errigal finished with 14, after Ciaran McGinley was sent off late on.

Strabane 4-10 Augher 2-13

THREE first half goals laid the foundation for Strabane’s high-scoring win over Augher at Carrickmore.

Ryan O’Kane, John McLaughlin and an Emmet Neesono.g. helped them to a 3-4 to 1-8 lead, with Daire Kavanagh netting Augher’s goal.

Conor Hackett grabbed a second Augher goal, but John Paul Gallagher netted a 39th minute penalty to regain control for the Sigersons.

Gallagher finished with 1-4, with McLaughlin hitting 1-3 as Strabane avenged lasetyears first round defeat.

Donaghmore 1-13 Moy 1-12

DEASUN Quinn converted a stoppage time free to give Moy a narrow in over Moy at Edendork.

Peter McKenna’s early goal helped Donaghmore to a 1-7 to 0-8 interval lead, but Moy hit back with a 43rd minute Conal Duffy goal.

Sean Cavanagh’s fifth converted free brought Moy level in the 65th minute, but there was still time for Donaghmore, without a single point in the league, to get a championship winner.

Trillick 3-16 Dungannon 1-9

TYRONE U21 star Lee Brennan bagged a spectacular 1-10 haul as Trillick avenged last year’s IFC final defeat with a resounding win over Dungannonat Killyclogher.

Mattie Donnelly turned in a towering display in his side’s 13 points success, chipping in with three excellent points.

Daniel McDonnell’s goal helped the Reds to a 1-9 to 0-6 interval lead, and while Patrick Quinn pulled back a Clarkes goal, there was no stopping Trillick.

The Brennan brothers, Lee and Rory, slotted home goals, and Lee continued to torment Dungannon as he scored at will.
