Veteran U105 presenter Jerry Lang has announced he is leaving the station, just days after an industrial tribunal hearing involving himself and other presenters was adjourned.

Mr Lang, who moved to U105 from Downtown Radio, in 2008 announced his departure with a short notice on social media.

"A new adventure awaits. After 15 years, I have left U105 Radio -  a heartfelt thanks to every single one of you who listened, you are amazing," wrote Mr Lang, who presented a Monday to Thursday evening show.

The Norfolk-born disc jockey, involved in the music business in the north for more than 40 years, was also previously the owner of a record shop in Bangor.

Mr Lang, Elizabeth Cullen, John Patrick Cullen, David Anthony Johnston,  Denise Scott (Watson), Carolyn Stewart and Stephen Woods filed a joint action against U105. A hearing was due to begin on Tuesday but as adjourned for conciliation.

U105, launched in 2005 and based in the City Quays area of Belfast, had approximately 250,000 weekly listeners in September, according to Rajar figures.
