THREE men have been arrested by police investigating an assault in Co Down that left the victim with head injuries.

The attack in the Castleview area of Killyleagh was reported shortly before 10am.

The male victim was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries to his head, body and hands.

Two men aged 44 and a 24-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, and were later released pending further enquiries.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or to anyone with CCTV, dash-cam or other footage that could assist with enquiries, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 517 of 22/10/23.”
