FÉILE an Phobail is to introduce Covid-19 entry requirements for five outdoor events next month.

Ticket-holders hoping to gain entry to the Falls Park gigs will have to first produce either proof of a negative NHS Lateral Flow Test, proof of natural Covid antibodies, based upon a positive NHS PCR test, or proof of double vaccination, with the second dose given at least 14 days prior to the event.

The proof will be required for five events - Féile Fight Night, the diversionary Féile Music Night, the Cage Conflict IV MMA Fight Night, Back to the 80s, and The Wolfe Tones.

Kevin Gamble, Director of Féile an Phobail, said it is important that the festival ensures a "Covid safe environment for these events, and protect event-goers, staff, performers, and the community.

"A pop-up vaccination unit will be in place at the Falls Park Bowling Pavilion on Tuesday 3rd August from 9am-3pm to offer vaccinations to the public. This is a partnership between Féile an Phobail and the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust," he said.

Mr Gamble said the festival would also be introducing a `Vaccines for Tickets' initiative, whereby a person receiving a first vaccine at the pop-up vaccination unit will be given a free ticket for a Diversionary Féile Music Night on Sunday, August 8.

"We will be giving away a total of 500 free tickets for our diversionary Féile Music Night to the first 500 people who come to the Féile Vaccination Unit to receive their first vaccination with the Pfizer vaccine," he said.
