A paint bomb has been thrown at the home of a relative of murdered community worker Ian Ogle.

Police said a property in the Convention Court area of east Belfast was targeted shortly after midnight on Saturday.

A brother of Mr Ogle (45) is understood to live at the house.

Mr Ogle was beaten and stabbed 11 times by up to five men near his Cluan Place home in January last year.

A number of people have been charged in relation to his death.

A PSNI spokesman said they are investigating a report of criminal damage and appealed for information.
