THE funeral of a young mother-of-one who was killed in a car crash in Co Tyrone earlier this week will take place on Friday.

Aimee Allen, who was aged in her twenties with a young son, died following a two-car collision on Monday afternoon on the Pomeroy Road between Pomeroy and Donaghmore.

A man, understood to have been a passenger in the black Vauxhall Vectra she was driving, is critically ill in hospital.

A 64-year-old man driving the other car, a blue Seat Exeo, sustained minor injuries.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to contact with them.

"We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen either vehicle travelling along the Pomeroy Road prior to the crash, or anyone who captured dash-cam footage. Officers can be reached at Dungannon police station by calling 101".

Requiem Mass for Ms Allen will take place on Friday at 12 noon at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Altmore.

Meanwhile, a mother and son from Bessbrook, who were killed in a road traffic collision on Saturday will be buried tomorrow.

Mary Faxton, who was aged in her eighties and her son, Kevin, who was aged in his fifties, were occupants in a car which was involved in a collision on the N1 at Carrickcarnan, on the border, in the early hours of Saturday.

Requiem Mass for the mother and son will take place tomorrow at 11am at the Church of St Peter and St Paul, Bessbrook. Interment will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Brian Magill, who was aged 25 and from Newry, was also killed in the collision.

Mr Magill was travelling in another car.

No funeral arrangements have so far been released.

Keith Lennon (20), from Dromintee in Co Armagh, appeared before Dundalk District Court on Monday, charged with dangerous driving causing the death of three people and failing to stay at the scene of a crash and report it.
