A MAIN railway line has reopened following a bomb scare in Lurgan.

The line was closed between Portadown and Lisburn for several hours this morning.

Police had advised people to avoid Lake Street in Lurgan during the alert.

The street was re-opened shortly before 1pm.

The alert affected northern and cross-border rail services.

Translink said although the line has reopened, some delays can still be expected.
