AN extensive search by police for a pipe bomb type-device in north Belfast had last night yielded nothing.

Searches were carried out following reports that a device may have been left at the junction of Glenrosa Link and Upper Canning Street in the North Queen Street area.

The PSNI warned members of the public to remain vigilant and not to touch anything suspicious.

Following extensive searches, police last night said nothing had been found.
