£240,000 cash seized in organised crime investigation

Searches were carried out in Belfast and Sprucefield on Tuesday and Wednesday

Two arrests have been made as police seized around £240,000 in cash during searches linked to an organised crime investigation in Belfast and Sprucefield.

The searches were carried out by detectives from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Unit on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Properties and vehicles in Belfast and Sprucefield were searched on Tuesday, with around £40,000 in cash seized.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property, and has since been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.



Around £200,000 was seized during the search of a property in west Belfast on Wednesday, and a 62-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property. She remained in custody on Wednesday evening.
