TWO men aged 28 and 31 were still being questioned last night about a £160,000 cannabis and cocaine seizure in north Belfast.

The drugs were discovered on Duncrue Street on Wednesday evening. Mobile phones were seized in a further search in Eglinton, Co Derry.

Gardaí later searched two houses in Co Donegal and seized cannabis worth £20,000, cash and drug paraphernalia.

The two men were being questioned about crimes including possession of class A and B drugs.

PSNI Detective Inspector Tom McClure said: "I believe that this intervention has struck a blow to the activities of an organised gang involved in serious drug criminality.

"The PSNI is committed to making Northern Ireland a hostile environment for those in our community who are involved in serious drug crimes. We will seek to identify them, arrest them and place them before the courts."

He appealed to anyone with information to contact police.
