A NEW petrol station is to be opened at the Twin Spires complex in the summer, developers have confirmed.
Operated by Go Petrol, which also has a station at Yorkgate in north Belfast, it will be the first petrol station to be opened on the Belfast-bound route of the Andersonstown and Falls Road.
The company behind the project, Ortus, has said that the plans are expected to generate 25 jobs in addition to boosting the economy during construction.
A shop adjoining to the forecourt, which is being built within the existing parking area, is also due to be opened at the site.
The firm has said access to the complex will be made available directly from the Falls Road with parking on site.
All businesses within the existing Twin Spires site will continue as normal, while Clonard Credit Union and a solicitor's firm will also open offices opposite the petrol station.
Noel Rooney, site project manager with Ortus, said: "The attraction of this facility will add social and economic value to the local community, increasing the potential for inward investment, footfall for existing tenants and further development in the area."
