EIGHT bursaries are available to children's clubs located within 10 miles of a branch of Little Wing Pizzeria.

The Little Stars scheme runs in November and this is the fourth year the restaurant chain will give money to children's clubs.

To date 18 clubs have benefitted and this year a further eight will each receive £500.

The restaurant has branches in Holywood, Bangor, Lisburn and Enniskillen and in Belfast at locations on Ann Street, Lisburn Road and Ballyhackamore.

A new branch will open in Newtownards early next year and a bursary is available to clubs in the area too.

The programme is open to all clubs for children under the age of 13 and Luke Wolsey, Managing Director of Little Wing Pizzeria, said the bursaries "can be used towards whatever the club needs, whether it’s equipment, new kits or even to pay the running costs".

Ojika NI was awarded a bursary last year and member Jim Toman said it had allowed the club to send young people to a competition in London.

“This will be the first time the junior club will compete outside of Northern Ireland and the bursary made a massive difference towards funding the trip.”

To apply for the Little Wing Little Stars bursary scheme, clubs need to submit a 300-word entry or create a two minute video explaining why they need the bursary and what it will be used for. They also need to state which branch of Little Wing they are closest to. Entries should be emailed to bursaries@littlewingpizzeria.co.uk before the closing date of November 10.
