Northern Switchgear Antrim SFC quarter-final

Creggan 1-14 Rossa 1-10

A GOAL and three two-point scores from Ruairi McCann were key in Creggan’s quarter-final victory over Rossa in Hannahstown yesterday.

The league champions were never behind in the contest and sealed the victory with a powerful third quarter.

Matty Rodgers and Joe McAteer gave the country side an early lead, and although Rossa levelled, the first of McCann’s two-pointers restored the lead.

The city side levelled again, but that was as good as it got for them as McCann’s second two-pointer gave the Kickhams a 0-6 to 0-4 half-time lead.

Matty Rodgers and Jamie McCann weighed in with two-point scores of their own in the early stages of the second half, with the former adding another point.

McCann’s third score from outside the arc stretched the lead further, and his goal put the icing on the cake.

Rossa scored a late 1-2, Tommy Morgan with the goal, to add some respectability to the scoreline, but it was Creggan’s day.
