HOME interiors retailer Harry Corry has opened a new store at Derry’s Crescent Link retail park, investing £150,000 and creating 10 jobs.

The Belfast-based operation now has 56 stores across the island of Ireland and Scotland, employing in the region of 800 people.

The Crescent Link store is Harry Corry’s second in the city, joining its Strand Road outlet, which opened in 1997.

Founded in 1968, the family-owned retailer now has 20 stores in the north, with 26 across the border and 10 in Scotland.

Harry Corry’s latest accounts show it recorded £50 million in sales in the year to February 28 2022, producing a pre-tax profit of £5.4m.

The retailer’s marketing manager, Mark Corry, described Crescent Link as a perfect location for Harry Corry.

“It is a thriving retail destination with new housing in the area creating growing demand for our product,” he said.

“Harry Corry is part of the fabric of Northern Ireland and as we welcome a new generation of shoppers, we want to make sure our stores are bright and welcoming and that our staff can give expert advice on everything from choosing the right mattress to measuring curtains,” he added.
