LONG-established Newry retailer Louis Boyd Menswear has celebrated its grand reopening at an event which it said "underlines the indomitable spirit of fashion and the power of a united community".

The business, which has been a heartbeat of the city since 1960, has spent close to £500,000 in recent years to completely reconfigure its retail offer, adding new departments and increasing its staff numbers along the way.

The official ribbon-cutting duty was placed in the safe hands of goalkeeping legend Pat Jennings, who hails from the city.

He captivated the audience with his charm and charisma, and his presence served as a testament to the significance and influence of Louis Boyd's Menswear within the community.

A £10,000 giveaway adding an element of anticipation and surprise as 41 winners each received vouchers of varying amounts.

Director Liam Boyd said: "The Mill Street store reopening stands as a shining example of the enduring power of fashion and community.

"It was an occasion where style met camaraderie, where fashion enthusiasts found inspiration, and where a shared sense of celebration transformed an ordinary day into an extraordinary one."

He added: "The event was a testament to the dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment of the Louis Boyd's Menswear team to continually provide a remarkable shopping experience for our valued customers."
