SUPERMARKET chain Musgrave is investing £3.2 million in upgrading four of its SuperValu outlets in the north.

The largest upgrade has already been completed in Portstewart, with £1.1m invested.

Musgrave’s Dairy Farm store in Dunmurry is currently undergoing a £600,000 transformation, while a £720,000 makeover of SuperValu in Portglenone is due to be completed next month.

A £730,000 upgrade of SuperValu Omagh is expected to be completer later in the year.

Caroline Rowan, Head of Retail Operations at Musgrave Northern Ireland said the work will make the stores more sustainable and energy efficient.

“Our rejuvenated SuperValu stores are truly stores of the future. In addition to the £2.7million sustainability fund Musgrave NI has committed to empower SuperValu and Centra retailers to become net zero by 2040, we have also invested £850,000 in energy saving materials across these four rejuvenated SuperValu stores, making them as efficient and green as possible.”
