A BELFAST-based software company has won its biggest ever contract to work on the 2021 Census.

Totalmobile, which has an office at Clarendon Dock in the city, will provide digital support for the upcoming Census, which is set to be completed predominantly online.

As part of the contract, awarded by the Office for National Statistics’ (ONS), Totalmobile's software will provide mobile working and scheduling support to census field workers.

The contract award is the largest in Totalmobile’s history, although the exact amount has not been disclosed, and comes on the back of a successful first quarter for the company, which saw software revenue grow to record levels.

Jim Darragh, CEO of Totalmobile said they are delighted to be awarded the prestigious contract.

“What a great start we have had to 2019 and this announcement only goes to cement our position as the first-choice provider in the UK FSM (Field Service Management) market," he said.

"We have been working hard with the ONS since early 2018, tasked with delivering a market-leading software solution for ONS’ Social Survey Division. We are delighted that this partnership will now be extended into such a vital programme like the 2021 Census, and demonstrates clearly the effectiveness, usability and scalability of our technology. We are all looking forward to working closely with the ONS on what is without doubt one of the largest mobile working projects the UK has seen," Mr Darragh added.

Totalmobile works with over 250 customers across a broad range of sectors, including; healthcare, government, utilities, infrastructure, housing and facilities management. In addition to its Belfast base, the firm has offices in London, Derby and Bury-St-Edmunds.
