ESTATE agency CPS Property has opened a new branch in Portadown town centre, creating five jobs.

It brings its estate to seven branches, including Belfast, Armagh, Dungannon, Enniskillen, Omagh and Monaghan.

The chartered surveyor company specialises in residential and commercial sales, new developments and property letting and management, also sells properties in Dubai, Cape Verde and Spain. It also has an in-house experienced financial services team.

Art O’Hagan, managing director of CPS Property, said: “As the business continues to grow, the time is right to open our seventh branch. We've always had a presence in Portadown but our existing relationships with developers and customers means we now need a team based in the area and this is a natural location to link our existing branch network. We feel our customers enjoy and benefit from a face-to-face service.

“The local market is buoyant with average property prices around Portadown now sitting at around £113,000. This is a significant jump in recent years and the area is benefitting from new developments coming to market.

"We’ll be launching four new developments in the area in the first quarter of 2018 so it is a great time to be looking for a new property, especially given the abolition of stamp duty for first time buyers.”

He added: “Our market share of completed sales across the province has increased by 17 per cent during the last 12 months with new build developments also up almost 45 per cent. We’re actively looking to grow our branch network further and this is set to be our most successful year to date.”

Branch manager Matthew Gilpin, who has worked for the company for a number of years and who is from the town, said: “Portadown is an area we’re extremely excited about, especially given healthy house prices and new developments regularly coming to market.

"We look forward to bringing our highly-regarded customer service and reputation to home-owners in the area.”

CPS Property recently won the Best Northern Ireland Estate Agency award at The Negotiator Awards in London.
