Snow Patrol have announced their only Irish date of 2024 will be a stadium show in Co Limerick.

The Gary Lightbody-fronted band will perform at Thomond Park on Friday July 12, with support from local trio, Kingfishr.

Earlier this year, the band announced that bassist Paul Wilson and drummer Jonny Quinn were leaving the band, reducing the Snow Patrol line-up to a trio for the first time since the early 2000s.

As it stands, the band is currently comprised of singer/guitarist Lightbody, guitarist/vocalist Nathan Connolly and multi-instrumentalist Johnny McDaid.

Announcing the departure of his bandmates on social media back in September, Gary Lightbody wrote: “Sorry to be the bearer of such sad news but both Jonny Quinn and Paul Wilson have decided to leave Snow Patrol.

“We are heartbroken they have decided to leave us but we wish them nothing but happiness, success, joy, compassion and everything they want in all their future endeavours.

"Nate, JMD and myself will continue with SP and there will be a new album next year but more news of that will come at an appropriate time, for now we want to pay homage and give gratitude for all Jonny and Pablo have given us and shared with us these past decades."

Having released a 20th anniversary edition of their breakthrough album Final Straw back in August, Snow Patrol's forthcoming new album will mark the 30th anniversary of the band's formation - although Lightbody is the only remaining original member.

Tickets for the Thomond Park show are priced from €53.85 and will go on sale at 9am on December 8 via ticketmaster.ie
