We Are Belfast!: A Cinematic Walk, Sunday April 10, The Black Box, Belfast, 2.30pm

I AM Belfast is film-maker and noted cinephile Mark Cousins’s dreamlike study of his native city. A hit at last year's Belfast Film Festival, it's now set to return 'home' as part of a wider UK release on April 8 marked by some special events.

Stunningly shot by Christopher Doyle and scored by David Holmes, I Am Belfast offers writer/director Cousins's unique take on a city come to life in the form of an audio-visual conversation with twinkly eyed actress Helena Bereen, who offers up an emotional recollection of 'her' rich, complicated history.

Mark Cousins will introduce a special Q&A screening of I Am Belfast at QFT Belfast on Friday April 8, while on Sunday April 10, Film Hub NI, QFT Belfast and The Black Box in Belfast will be inviting audiences out on to the streets for a walk led by Cousins himself.

Join the director as his city is 'revealed' through visits to a series of familiar I Am Belfast settings, including the Ruby Murray soundbench, the gold wall and the inimitable Rosie and Maude's favourite coffee shop, before enjoying a special celebratory party at The Black Box featuring music by David Holmes and Stuart Watson.

An I Am Belfast walking map will be available soon via Iambelfast.tumblr.com, while people are being invited to share videos, images, gifs and memes related to Belfast on social media using #MagicHere.
