BELFAST restaurant chain Made in Belfast is to open its fourth outlet in the city in the coming months.

It can be revealed that the former home of La Bastille restaurant on the Lisburn Road will be the location for 'Made in South Belfast'.

The new outlet is the company's fourth after the Made in Belfast City Hall and Cathedral Quarter eateries as well as The Grill on Hill Street.

It is understood the restaurant chain, owned by Kent-native Emma Bricknell is now targeting further expansion in the city, creating new jobs on the Lisburn Road. Signage for the new restaurant has appeared at the site in recent days.

La Bastille, owned by Guillaume Rabillat was a mainstay of south Belfast, before its closure last year. Building on his success Mr Rabillat opened Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, 44 in the Cathedral Quarter in June, following a £500,000 investment.

Located on Hill Street, the tapas-style eatery has created 25 jobs and is located beside The Grill restaurant owned by Made in Belfast.

The concept behind the restaurant is part of Mr Rabillat's mission to help change the perception of fine dining, making great food fun and approachable to all ages and backgrounds without compromising on quality.

The first Made in Belfast opened in April 2008 and in over 10 years the restaurants have become some of the most popular in Belfast.

The announcement of the latest outlet and investment comes despite the fact Ms Bricknell previously threatened to leave the city, largely due to frustration at the north's political and business environment.
