A man in his 30s has died following a crash in Armoy on Sunday evening.

A man in his thirties has died following a road collision in Co Antrim.

The single-vehicle collision happened in the Coolkeeran Road area of Armoy at around 11.30pm on Sunday.

A PSNI spokesperson said the crash involved a silver Peugeot 207.

“Officers attended, alongside our colleagues from other emergency services and first aid was provided at the scene," the spokesperson said.

“A man, aged in his thirties, was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries where he sadly passed away. There were no other passengers in the vehicle."

The road was closed following the crash, but has since reopened to traffic.

"A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding what happened is ongoing," the spokesperson said.

“Officers would appeal to anyone with any information or who may have dash-cam or mobile phone footage available to contact them at the Collision Investigation Unit at Sprucefield on 101, quoting reference number 1912 10/12/23.”

Meanwhile, the railway line at Jordanstown in Co Antrim remained closed on Monday evening following a "tragic incident", police have said, adding: "Travellers who use the train should seek alternative transport."

A Translink spokesperson said emergency services were called to the line between Jordanstown and Greenisland.

“The line between Lanyon Place and Larne is currently closed and bus substitutions are in operation," they said.

"Trains on the Derry~Londonderry line are calling additionally at Whiteabbey. Passengers can also use valid train tickets on Ulsterbus services."
