MASKED burglars broke into the Co Antrim home of a woman in her eighties and stole a substantial amount of money.

Around six men forced their way into the woman's home on Main Street in Armoy at around 10pm yesterday.

Police said the woman woke up to find the men in her house.

The burglars drove off in a red car towards Carrowreagh Road.

Police said the pensioner has been left extremely distressed by the burglary.
