Teens left 'terrified' following Co Down burglary by masked men

TWO teenagers in Co Down have been left "extremely terrified" following an aggravated burglary by masked men armed with blunt weapons.

The men entered a house in the Castle Street area of Comber shortly before 10pm on Monday.

Two teens who were inside the property at the time were ordered to hand over their mobile phones before the men searched rooms and made off with money and a quantity of jewellery. They fled the scene in a light-coloured vehicle.

All four men were described as wearing black clothing with hoods up and gloves on, while one was wearing dark green trainers.

All were described as of slim build, while two are thought to be around 6’ 0” in height and the other two around 5’ 11”.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “The two teenagers, although uninjured, were left extremely terrified by what was undoubtedly a frightening ordeal for them.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the Castle Street area during this time or who may have noticed these masked men to get in touch. Enquiries remain ongoing and anyone who has mobile, doorbell or CCTV footage that could help our investigation is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 2196 11/09/23.”
