Co Down ‘serious assault’: Man (31) being questioned by police

Police are continuing to question a 31-year-old man in connection with the assault of a man in Co Down.

The alleged attack happened in the Orange Hall Lane area of Comber on March 21.

The man was detained on suspicion of a number of offences including grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon.

He remained in police custody on Friday.

Police said a 29-year-old woman was previously charged to appear at Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court.
