The parents of Connor Currie have said they will never come to terms with losing him.

The schoolboy was one of three teenagers who died in a crush outside the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown on St Patrick's night 2019.

The other teens to die were Lauren Bullock (17) and Morgan Bernard (17).

In a message posted on a Just Giving page set up to raise cash for bereavement service Anam Cara and Edendork GAC, which was a big part of Connor's life, his parents Eamon and Ciara speak openly about their son's death for the first time.

The grieving couple say that March 17 two years ago is "etched in our hearts for all the wrong reasons".

"That was the night our son Connor went out with friends and was never to return," they wrote.

"Losing a child is hard to imagine and worse having to live everyday without him.

"Only a parent who has lost a child will understand the hurt and pain that we carry everyday."

The loving parents say the support of family and friends gives them strength.

"Two years on from Connor's passing we will never come to terms with losing him, but with the love and support of our family, friends and the community we are able to find the strength and courage to get through each day," they wrote.

The couple spoke of how they wanted to honour their son's memory through a song written by Co Armagh writer Gerry Cunningham - 'A song for Connor'.

"All profits will be donated to Anam Cara, a worthy charity for bereaved parents that helped us to deal with the loss of our son," they said.

"We hope you enjoy the song and we want to thank you for all of the support over the last two years.

"We hope the fundraising efforts will allow other families to be able to cope just that little bit better.

"Connor would want you to live life to the full, laugh and be happy."
