Stars of the Liverpool-based television series This City is Ours witnessed little drama themselves during the 2-0 victory over Brighton at Anfield.
Local actors James Nelson-Joyce and Darci Shaw were among a number of cast members who were guests of honour in the directors’ box ahead of the critically-acclaimed crime series returning to our screens on Sunday night.
They, along with writer Stephen Butchard, also spent time pitchside before kick-off.

But unlike the gritty plotlines of the BBC’s show about Liverpool’s gangland shot in and around the city there was little in the way of peril for Nelson-Joyce and his colleagues to worry about.
They saw Alexander Isak score his sixth league goal in seven matches after Florian Wirtz’s shot deflected in off Pascal Gross for the opener as Brighton managed just one shot on target despite dominating possession.
