Dermot Weld's Time Tells All can make it third time lucky at Cork

THE well-bred Time Tells All can open his account at the third attempt down in Cork on Wednesday evening.

Dermot Weld’s charge went to post a short enough price on his return this season but could only finish third behind Bright Legend in heavy ground at the Curragh.

The half-brother to Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Homeless Song didn’t appear to see out 10 furlongs in testing conditions that day and it looks significant that he drops back to a mile now.

Despite being by Sea The Stars this could be his trip as he ran really over the same distance on his debut at Navan in late March.

He just lost out by half-a-length to Drumroll on his racecourse bow after travelling well into contention in the straight.

Given the gears he showed that day he could well be a miler like his half-sister despite being by a sire that is more of a stamina influence.

It looks like a decent contest and Jim Bolger’s Cuban Dawn could be the danger.

Bolger frequently throws horses in at the deep end and this Teofilo colt ran with plenty of credit when fourth in the listed Tetrarch Stakes on his debut at the Curragh at the start of the month.

He had some decent horses around him that day and should be a big player now trying maiden company.

The 83-rated Dutch Gold is another that has to come into calculations and hasn’t run too badly in finishing fifth on two starts this term.

He could be bumping into a couple of stakes performers here though and Time Tells All is fancied to prove the class act.

In the opening maiden, Kings Time looks an interesting one on his return to action.

The Exceed And Excel colt shaped with promise on his sole start last season when third in a ‘winners’ race at Roscommon in August.

That race was claimed by a smart sort in Greenland, who has already been a Group Three winner in France this season and is a lively outsider for Classics.

Kings Time looks open to plenty of improvement and trainer Jessica Harrington has enjoyed a fine start to the season.

The drying ground today could make a difference to the Paddy Twomey-trained Jenni in the following two-year-old maiden.

She was sent off favourite on her debut at the Curragh last month but weakened in very testing ground.

The Mehmas filly did show early pace though before getting bogged down in the ground and can put that to better use now on this better surface.
