Late Donal Nugent goal helps Lámh Dhearg lift Antrim JHC

Despite the best efforts of Emmets Cushendun in this Junior hurling championship final at Armoy, late scores from a battling Hannastown side saw the title go to South Antri,

Donal Nugent was the man responsible his late goal levelling the game with a minute remaining and his injury time pointed free winning the day.

In all the lively corner forward claimed a goal and eight points as his side overcame the underdog tag.

A first half Aiden McGuigan goal followed a couple of minutes later by an Eoin McQuillan Cushendun effort made for a thrilling first half which saw the men from the hill lead 1-8 to 1-5.

Despite falling behind to yet another Nugent point on the restart the Emmets came back with a bang. Seven points on the trot gave them a tree point advantage with just two minutes remaining .

Nugents goal, from a long free and his injury time point robbed the North Antrim side.

St Brigids Cloughmills 2-17 St Endas 1-16

Hot favourites Cloughmills made amends for their defeat at the hands of Rossa in last seasons Intermediate hurling decider with this four point victory against St Endas.

Leading by three at the break, 0-9 to 0-6 thanks to the fire power of Michael Devlin Aaron Smilie and Liam Cassley, they hit a rough patch at the start of the second half.

The Glengormley men hit them with everything on the restart and an Eoin Conlon goal and points from JohnMcGoldrick, Darrach Cooper and Brendan Cormican they went ahead for the first time.

Cloughmills did untold damage between the tenth and twenty first minute where six points and an Owen Kinney goal put them back in control despite a four point barrage from the up and coming St Endas lads.

A red card incident four minutes from time took its tole and with St Brigids adding two more points and an injury time Liam Kearns goal, the Cloughmills side were worthy winners in a great game.
