Ulster MFC quarter-finals: Monaghan 2-16 Armagh 2-5, Donegal 1-11 Cavan 2-7, Derry 2-15 Antrim 0-1

MONAGHAN eased their way into a last-four meeting with Tyrone thanks to a convincing 11-point win over Armagh in Castleblayney.

Monaghan made the brighter start, racing into a four-point lead before Armagh narrowed the gap through a Daragh McNulty goal. Monaghan edged three in front again only for a Fionn Ó Tuathail point and a second goal from McNulty that saw Armagh take the lead.

Monaghan responded brilliantly, however, and rattled off 1-3 on the bounce to lead 1-10 to 2-2 at half-time, with McCrystal pouncing on a loose kickout to play through McGinnity for Monaghan’s major.

McNulty and Calum Hughes closed the gap at the start of the second period, but it was all Monaghan for the remainder of the half.

Captain Finbar Roarty was in inspirational form for Donegal as they staged a stirring comeback against Cavan at Breffni Park.

With 54 minutes on the clock, Donegal trailed by six, but Roarty was key to setting up an Oisín Scanlon goal and points from Danny Brown, Lorcan McGee and Darragh Hennigan that turned the game on its head.

Donegal will meet Derry in the semi-finals, who wiped the floor with Antrim at Owenbeg.
