NORTHERN Ireland striker Dion Charles insists Bolton Wanderers former team mate Conor Bradley will be a star at Liverpool.

The 20-year-old defender from Tyrone will miss the forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Finland and Denmark over the coming days through injury.

Bradley made a bright start to his career with both Liverpool and Northern Ireland, being hailed by Michael O'Neill and Jurgen Klopp.

He went on loan to League One club Bolton for the 2022-23 season but when he returned he suffered a stress fracture in his back during pre-season with Liverpool.

Charles played alongside him at the Toughsheet Community Stadium last year and has given his unflinching backing for the Castlederg man to be a success at Anfield.

“Conor is incredible, Conor can go as far as he wants”, said 26-year-old Charles.

“That kid has everything; intelligence, such a good player but his biggest strength is his mentality, he wants to learn, he wants to get better.

“When Conor first came to Bolton he hadn't played much senior football, and he played like a 30-year-old with experience.

“So when he's back fit, it will be interesting to see not if but when he gets into the Liverpool team, and I'm backing him to do that.”

Charles even believes Bradley can compete with Trent Alexander Arnold, who is almost a fixture at Anfield.

“He is, but the type of character Conor is, he will be with him every single day pushing him, which will make him better for the future.

“He's been a big miss for Northern Ireland, he'd be a big miss for any team, the type of player he is.

“At Bolton, when Conor is on the ball you feel like he is going to do something, and it's great to have a player like that in the team.

“He's quiet, keeps himself to himself, yeah, he's a good kid Conor.”
