REPUBLIC of Ireland women's interim head caoch Eileen Gleeson is without a whole host of players for UEFA Nations League back-to-back games with Albania - but her squad is still laced with plenty of quality.

Despite recording wins over Northern Ireland and Hungary last month, Gleeson is not tempted to turning her temporary post into a permanent one.

Injuries rule out World Cup duo Niamh Fahey and Ruesha Littlejohn while Aoife Mannion, Claire Walsh, Tara O'Hanlon, Roma McLaughlin, Jess Ziu and Leanne Kiernan are also on the absentee list for Friday week's home game with the Albanians at Tallaght Stadium and next Tuesday's return match .

Gleeson has called up in-form midfielder Erin McLaughlin, who last week helped Peamount United win the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division title, while Sinead Farrelly returns to the international set-up after injury ruled her out last month.

As ever, the squad is backboned by Katie McCabe, Denise O'Sullivan and Kyra Carusa. RTE will screen both Albania games 'live'.
