Holders Linfield have been handed a home tie against Premier Intermediate side Queen’s University in the first round of the BetMcLean League Cup following Monday’s draw.

Last year’s beaten finalists Coleraine also have a home tie against Championship side Bangor while league champions Larne have been drawn at home to Knockbreda.

There are no all-Premiership ties due to the draw being seed with the 12 Premiership clubs and the top four ranked Championship clubs from last season in one pot.

However,  Championship leaders Newington may fancy their chances of causing an upset after being handed a trip to Dungannon Swifts, who have yet to win in the Premiership this season.

Cliftonville host Institute while Glentoran face a trip to Dollingstown and Crusaders travel to Warrenpoint Town.
