FORMER Carl Frampton foe Josh Warrington is in Michael Conlan’s sight now and the Belfast fighter hopes to face ‘The Leeds Warrior’ for his IBF title at Madison Square Garden, New York on St Patrick’s weekend next year.

Warrington saw off Frampton over 12 gruelling rounds in Manchester in December and has since defended his IBF belt for a second time against Kid Galahad. The Leeds native is scheduled to fight in again in October but has made no secret of his ambition to fight in America and Conlan is keen to face him at ‘The Garden’ in 2020.

“It’s a fight I would grab with both hands,” said the unbeaten former amateur world champion and Olympic Games medallist.

“St Patrick’s Day is the aim for that for me. Whether they’ll want it in New York or not is a different story but if he really wants to fight in America then I’m an easy fight for him – they probably think that.

“It would be fantastic and if the opportunity arises I would grab it with both hands.”
