Decathlon races set for November

THE popular Decathlon 10K and Half-Marathon will go ahead again this year on Sunday, November 2 with an early start of 9am for both races.

All finishers are promised a medal and there will be Decathlon vouchers for the first three finishers in both the men's and women's races, as well as the various age-group winners. "The course is flat and fast and is suitable for runners of all abilities," said

organiser Johnny Davis. "Previous winners include Commonwealth Games athlete Paul Pollock (left) in the half-marathon and Commonwealth triathlete Conor Murphy in the 10K." Registration opens on the morning of the event at the Decathlon store at Belfast's Holywood Exchange from 7am to 8.30am.

Race numbers and goodie bags will be given out at registration. Chip timing will be in use. Pre-registration is also available on Saturday, November 1 from 5pm to 7pm in the store.
