Warrenpoint seeking revenge

GLENAVON visit Stangmore Park to face Warrenpoint Town in the Danske Bank Premiership this evening (7.45pm) with the two sides in starkly contrasting form, writes Colin O'Neill.

The 'Point fell to their 19th defeat of the campaign on Saturday, going down 2-0 against Cliftonville and remain second from bottom of the table. Gary Hamilton's men meanwhile, enjoyed a comfortable 3-1 win over Coleraine and secured a place in the top six of the Premiership.

When the sides last met a fortnight ago at Stangmore Park, the game was a close affair with Glenavon edging it 2-1. Warrenpoint took the lead through Danial Hughes but were clawed back by goals from player-coach Hamilton and Guy Bates.

Barry Gray's men will be hoping to reverse that result tonight in their bid to stay in the top flight.
